actions for active resistance

not for passive passengers

The image is not only meant to exhibit passively significant forms, but to trigger a movement, if not of revolt, at least a movement.
When everything seems to be said and repeated at this point in Art History, something emerges : chaos which confronts us with our responsibility to intervene in the movement of the world.

the safety within the quote and the reality that IS outside the quote

"it's really so cool dealing with political issues nowadays in art. As I said before, everything more or less has been exploited; therefore it is reality and hot issues that will inevitably grab our never-ending hunger for fresh themes. Playing with fire has its dangers, though."

"The real tragedy of Manifesta is that in a project supposedly based on dialogue, interconnectedness, and exchange, nobody in the end was willing to listen to anybody else."

old school (one):De gustibus non est disputandum

No reasoned argument can conclude that objects are aesthetically valuable or valueless

old school classes of the bored of education : we can play the game with you, as we know the reading lists and the histories and also the language of politics that you use (which is to play within the box and outside of the box and to blur the borders or rather to use the borders as they suit your needs)

saint augustine(one) : excess is the enemy of art

«Η όλη αντίληψη περί τέχνης ότι αποτελεί ακτιβιστικό εργαλείο δεν είναι τίποτε άλλο παρά ένα άλλοθι, ένας άνετος χώρος για να πνίξουν τις ενοχές τους όσοι θα ήθελαν να είναι ακτιβιστές, αλλά φοβούνται να βγουν στον δρόμο».

the problem arises when "those" that are not "afraid" to fight in the streets are not allowed to fight in the "arts"

(note: as to how they are not allowed, well this will be a further post because it is a big discussion. a few words can be said , as a sort of starting point: censorship is not direct/ it is masked under such terms as _relevance_importance_aesthetic potency etc... in other words aesthetics and the criterias of aesthetics are used as a pseudo-vocabulary to cover the acts of censorship.)
